To preserve apple butter, spoon into sterilized jars and process in a hot water bath for 10 minutes. Pour the hot mixture into very clean, dry glass jars leaving about ¼ inch at the top. Attach the gear to the drive roller, and arrange an interface on the spinning roller, maybe a wood disk. Trace the gear pattern onto the wood disk and cut notches to match the drive gear.
