This mill is in condition but needs needs some work. The overall casting and body are in very good shape. The motor (3 phase) runs well. The table is clean and seems flat (haven't checked it with a dial indicator). The Y and the Z axis travel are pretty good but there is quite a bit of slippage in the X axis.

I would stay away from that specific machine, it is really beat up, and has a lever for moving x ways versus preferred wheel. For that size machine, you should checkout the Burke No 4 Milling Machine, many available in good shape and you'll have powered x ways, and if lucky you might find the vertical head as well.

I bought the mill and picked it up Saturday, unloaded Sunday Thursday thru Sunday took a good deal of time with everything revolving around the mill hence my late reply. I added a few photos of the mill we removed the motor and head before unloading and lagged 2x8's to the base so we could move it using " wood dowels as rollers.

I bought a vertical mill (Millrite MVI) with a mild steel draw bar for R8 that had been repaired: The original threaded end had broken off, so an axial hole in the remaining rod was drilled and threaded to accept 4" to 6" of 7/16" allthread, which was loctited into the threaded hole.
